“High end CNC machine tool equipment is an important support for national industry and national defense security, and is the top priority in the construction of a manufacturing power.” On March 2, Zhao Ji, member of the National Committee of the Chinese people’s Political Consultative Conference and professor of Northeastern University, said that he would submit proposals at the fourth session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, suggesting that the state should continue to support the innovation and development of high-end CNC machine tool industry during the “14th five year plan” period, and continue to plan and set up key R & D plans and scientific and technological projects for high-end CNC machine tools.

Zhao Ji said that the machine tool industry has the characteristics of knowledge, technology, skills, capital intensive, long investment cycle, difficult research and development, high matching requirements and limited demand capacity. It is a basic and strategic industry in the national economic development, which is not only related to the high-quality development of the national economy, but also related to the national strategic security. China has always attached great importance to the R & D, production and product innovation and upgrading of high-end CNC machine tools and other key manufacturing equipment, and has issued a number of industrial policies, scientific research projects and other supporting policies.
